ANNAPOLIS, MD - Annapolis Tours and Watermark Cruises, the premier tour and charter boat company, announces its plans to commission Lady Sarah, the newest member of its charter fleet. It is fitting that the ceremony will be part of the official opening of the annual Maryland Maritime Heritage Festival on Saturday, April 30, at 12:00 PM on the City Dock in historic Annapolis.
The boat will be blessed by the Reverend John Price, pastor of St. Anne's Church. Governor Robert Ehrlich, who is the keynote speaker for the festival, will be joined by Anne Arundel County Executive Janet Owens, and Mayor of the City of Annapolis Ellen Moyer. Representatives from Geo Shipyard of Louisiana, builders of the yacht, will also be in attendance.
Following the remarks, the captain and crew will raise the boat's flags. A branch from a Wye oak, Maryland's state tree, will be laid on the deck, symbolizing a safe return of the boat to its harbor after each charter voyage. Lady Sarah will then be given her orders and christened with a ceremonial bottle-smashing of champagne by Sarah Holt, namesake of the Lady Sarah, and daughter of Annapolis Tours and Watermark Cruises owner Debbie Gosselin.
Lady Sarah is a 65-foot custom-built motor catamaran, and can comfortably accommodate up to 149 guests. She has been outfitted in rich tones of dark blue leather and Spanish cedar in an enclosed climate-controlled main deck. She will join Annapolitan II, Catherine Marie, Cabaret II, and Harbor Queen as part of Watermark Cruises' charter fleet.
Following the ceremony, Lady Sarah will be open to the public from 1:00 - 3:00 PM. |
