Maryland faced a difficult choice in early 1861 – to remain in the Union as a slave-owning state, or join the new Confederacy of the seceded southern states. Annapolis’ role as a seat of government and the home of the Naval Academy, as well as its modern railroad, steamboat, and telegraph, made the city a key location when war erupted. The Civil War tour will uncover many of the fascinating stories and events that unfolded in the city and the role the city played during the war and about the people who were involved. Departing from the Info Booth at ACD at 10:00 am. $16/Adults, $10/Children* *For coupon click here. |
